Music

Psychic Reader by Bad Bad Hats (2015): I usually hate twee-sounding bands (my twee phase was long over) BUT BAD BAD HATS! Love the sound and the lyrics~

Dark Eyes by Half Moon Run (2012): Dawn introduced me to them (more like fangirling all over Twitter that I had to check them out) and my ears went flapping.

As for solo artists, I listened to a lot of Nick Jonas, Sia, and BIPOLAR SUNSHINE. Good lord, I've loved Bipolar Sunshine before (as in during college) but I wasn't able to follow him everywhere and now that I've rediscovered him, HALLELUJAH.

TV

FAKING IT WAS CANCELLED I CRY

Silicon Valley is my only hope~

Films

Ang Nawawala (2012): Loved this coming-of-age Filipino indie film full of music!

Captain America: Civil War (2016) : STUCKY

Just the 3 of Us (2016): HIHI rom-com

How did your May go? Any film, TV, or music recommendations? More importantly, what great books did you read this month?

  1. Hiiiii Dianne! Haha it's been awhile. I'm still pretty much in a reading/blogging slump hence the lack of books read this month. But my fave read of May was THE RAVEN KING - btw have you read it already?????? IT WAS PERF. I also watched THE WAY HE LOOKS, which was a really sweet and heartwarming LGBT-themed indie - I think you might like this one! And as for music, I've been constantly listening to Raleigh Ritchie's amazing debut album - it's alternative R&B rap!

    1. MIGUEL, I MISS YOUUUUU. But I just checked your blog and you've been posting more than me! Hahaha! I haven't read THE RAVEN KING yet because I ordered a signed copy and wouldn't be receiving it until probably July so I can only read it in August. AAAAAAAAAA I'm so tempted to buy a Kindle copy but $$$$. I'll definitely check out THE WAY HE LOOKS and I haven't heard of Raleigh Ritchie so will definitely check that out because obvs I love your music tastes and with films too hihihi

  2. Now that I live in Silicon Valley, I get almost all the jokes! I'm really enjoying that show. I can't drink anything while I'm watching it, because the laughs take me by surprise and I snort the liquid through my nose.

By the way, this is an awards-free blog. I appreciate it though, really. :D
