I said I'll cut back on buying, right? Uhm, can we start that some other time? I couldn't resist because Fully Booked had a sale!
The Opposite of Loneliness: Essays and Stories by Marina Keegan
When I read about Marina's story and how she died at a young age full of potential, I got sad. But I got sadder when I read one of her essays and how it was poignant yet hopeful. This book has been on my wishlist ever since that moment last year. My friend and I exchanged gifts AKA exchanged books and this was my wishlist. I'm so excited yet a wee bit afraid to read it because I know there will be FEELS AND TEARS.
Where Things Come Back by John Corey Whaley
The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater
After loving Noggin by John Corey Whaley, I immediately bought his debut novel Where Things Come Back. Sadly, I still haven't read it because I fail.
I also bought a paperback of The Dream Thieves because the ARC that I was reading had missing pages!!! Yes, I was enraged and so sad at midnight on a Sunday because I couldn't continue reading! I went to the nearest bookstore the next day and thank God there's a copy! I would have cried, really, if I wasn't able to read it the next day. I was on the juicy parts and then BAH.
