I asked Megan where did the idea of the novel come from and here's her answer!

The series, The Children and The Blood, came from a novella I wrote as a teenager, which in turn came from a dream I had. The dream – and the novella – featured two teenagers and a little girl running from people who wanted to capture them because of a centuries-old battle – and because of a family legacy beyond anything the kids could have imagined. Much of the dream and the novella made it into the final story in one form or another, though some events, names and characters changed. I am very excited to share this series with readers now, and I hope they enjoy the story!
