Stacking the Shelves (3)

Saturday, December 1, 2012

Last Sunday, my family and I went to the mall. We were walking towards a food stall when we passed by a book sale. I can't keep myself away from books so off I went inside the store. The first title I saw was The House of Scorpion by Nancy Farmer and I really liked that book. So if this book can be bought here, then its offerings would naturally be good. So off I went inside and look at what I've got! The books there are wonderful. I wonder why people decided to sell them. Plus, I love secondhand books, they have more character. Anyway, I got all of these books (EIGHT BOOKS! EIGHT!) for Php 500 only (around $13.5). And they're award winners (Man Booker Prize, etc) and just plain great. I will not be a Sarah Dessen virgin anymore! Here's my first Dessen book! Anyway, proudly presenting, my haul!

Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli
The Giver by Lois Lowry (Newberry Medal!)
Keeping the Moon by Sarah Dessen
Vernon God Little by D.B.C Pierre (Man Booker Prize yo!)
Going Bovine by Libba Bray (Printz Award!)
Holes by Louis Sachar (Newberry Medal!)
Innocence by Jane Mendelsohn

Let's just say I was freakin' broke this week because I spent my allowance on those 8 books but it's definitely worth it. <3 Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews. :) How about you? Show me your haul! :)

By the way, this is an awards-free blog. I appreciate it though, really. :D
