Stacking the Shelves (1)

Since I don't regularly buy books and I am lazy to blog about galleys I got approved for over at NetGalley or free books I got at Amazon, I will only post Book Hauls when I actually bought a book or books (yey for plurality!) from a bookstore, a book sale, wherever. So Book Haul will be an irregular feature. Just clearing that up!

Kate convinced me to join Stacking the Shelves so here I am! Haha!

Today (errr, yesterday, since this post is scheduled), I braved the National Bookstore Warehouse Sale all by myself! Well, I saw LOTS of friends there but I went there alone. It's full of my high school batchmates and my coursemates. Haha! What can I say? Molecular biologists still like our fiction, baby! Anyway, Jean also went there and he pretty much accompanied me. What a sweet friend! He didn't end up buying a book at all because there's nothing that caught his eye but seriously, Jean isn't a book snob. We weren't that into putting much effort into finding books too. Haha!

Anyway, to cut the story short, here are my purchases! At first, I was not that happy with my loot because I only got 9. But I got them for Php 370 only so whatever, I love it! And now, when I put them up like that, it gave me an endorphin boost. I was slightly sad that I wasn't able to buy lots of YA and any Murakami book but in retrospect, I got an E. Lockhart book (Dramarama), a Newberry Honor Awardee (Yolanda's Genius) and a whole lot more! So without further ado, my book haul!

The Box by Richard Matheson
Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane
The Food of the Gods by H.G. Wells
Dramarama by E. Lockhart
H.I.V.E.: The Overlord Protocol by Mark Walden
Yolanda's Genius by Carol Fenner
Be A Genie in Six Easy Steps by Linda Chapman and Steve Cole
The Chicken Dance by Jacques Couvillon
Spud: The Madness Continues by John van de Ruit

How about other Filipinos out there? Did you go to the NBS Warehouse Sale? Show me your haul! :D

  1. Ohh wow, this was one sale I didn't want to miss but unfortunately I did - again! :( Anyway, love you haul btw. Wanted that shutter island but every one I saw in Booksale are movie tie in and I hate those covers.

    1. I don't like movie tie-in versions too but these were worth Php 30 each so I didn't complain. Haha! There were so many people and it was so hot. There's a National Bookstore Christmas Book Bazaar soon! I plan on going there too. :D

By the way, this is an awards-free blog. I appreciate it though, really. :D
